The new intelligence – Brand Perspective

I’d love to take the time and put together a juicy article about branding and how
really, no matter what you do the only thing that really matters is "are people talking
about you".

I don’t think I need to spell out the benefits of branding on a specific level. First off
It’s definitely to some degree a part of Google’s new algorithm update. Secondly,
besides traffic, it’s nice to become a household name when someone thinks of
the problem your business solves, they think of you. They tell friends about you
and you’re the only thought on their mind. Need I go further on that? Nah!

Once you’ve created a conversation about yourself, that’s when the true effect of
Branding is realized. Public constant conversation about you.

The first step to both understanding and executing this process of making your
brand a well known one, is to examine other existing brands in your market space.

I love the info and walk through’s this guy has done on using Google’s new insights
for search to do that type of research.

It’s a pain, but strongly important to do an excel sheet of all the features/benefits/angles
each competitor has and which one they focus on the most. Then aim to focus on your
own angle. Like my friends Scott Paton & Shane Jeremy James who’ve coined the phrase
"weight loss and the mind" as apposed to "weight loss and motivation" (lazy people!) or
"weight loss and nutrition" (potato chip addicts!).. you get the idea!

Carve out a part of the niche for yourself.. then get bloggers talking…
Get people conversationalizing about YOU and your solution and your name.|
Get the social world talking about you!

And those are only the paid varieties. There are many ways of influencing brand… but
I personally think those are the easiest.
